The Red Cross Society is a worldwide, well known, universally accepted, admired and internationally identified humanitarian service organization. It is the biggest, independent non-religious, non-political, non-sectarian and voluntary relief organization treating people equally all over the world without any discrimination as to their nationality race and religious beliefs.

Our College has an extension service in the name of Youth Red Cross (YRC) and students actively participate events conducted regularly under the guide ship of. Mrs.M. Rajalakshmi, Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce and the student secretary of YRC is Miss. M. Janani of II B.A English Lit.


The inauguration of Youth Red Cross for the academic year 2018-19 was held on 1.08.2018. On that occasion Mrs.M. Rajalakshmi M.Com.,M.Phil.,SET. Assistant Professor, Department of Commerce was selected as the Programme Officer. M.Janani of II B.A English /literature was selected as the Secretary and M.A.Muthu Katheeja of I.B.Com was selected as the Joint Secretary.

  • Youth Red Cross has organized Cleanliness Camp on 7.08.2018 and 9.08.2018 for the effective implementation of Swatch Bharath Mission. On that day all YRC members cleaned college campus.
  • In a bid to increase awareness about cleanliness of environment YRC members took out a rally organized by our college Youth Red Cross club along with NSS on 10.08.2018 at Ramasamipuram. 20 YRC members and YRC Programme officer took part in this rally.
  • Youth Red Cross members visited Oldage Home at Arumuganeri on 13.08.2018. A team of 25 YRC members along with YRC Programme Officer from our college visited this home. On that occasion YRC members gave various Programmes like Drama, Song, Speech etc., to create awareness about cleanliness.
  • Our college Youth Red Cross club along with NSS has organized Health care activities on 14.08.2018 in the Seminar Hall. On that particular day ALBENDAZOLE Tablets were given to all the students. This activity was presided by our college Principal Dr.R.C.Vasuki M.A.,Ph.D. DGT.
  • YRC club have conducted a meeting about the awareness of Chronic pain. The Chief Guest Dr.Krithika, Cosultant pain physician, Nellai pain Clinic, Tirunelveli delivered a speech about the Chronic Pain, role of pain clinics and interventional pain management.
  • YRC of our college along with government primary health centre, Kayamozhi have observed the world population day. For that Elocution Competition conducted on 27.08.2018. The following students won the prizes.

  • Youth Red Cross has organized AIDS awareness meeting on 10.12.2018, on that day oath was taken by all the YRC members. The chief guest was Mrs.Punitha, Government Hospital, Kayalpatnam delivered a speech about AIDS.
  • District AIDS Prevention and control unit, Thoothukudi has organized “World AIDS day-2018” in kamaraj college on 13.12.2018. On that occasion our college students performed “Mime” before the District Collector, other District officials, and participants of the programme.
  • YRC club have conducted a meeting about the mental awareness in our college on 27.12.2018. the chief guest Dr.Swathilakshmi M.B.B.S, DPM, Psychologists, government delivered a speech about the mental health.
  • Our college Youth Red Cross club have observed National Deworming Day on 8.02.2019. On that day ALBENDAZOLE Tablets were given to all the first year students.
  • YRC Club of our college has conducted various competitions to observe the World Cancer day on 4.02.2019 in the Seminar Hall. The following students won the prizes.
